Never give up of trying to reconnect with someone from your past. During the Christmas holidays we hapened to be in the same town where some old friends lived. We hadn’t seen or heard from them in 3 or 4 years. Emails hadn’t been returned. Text messeges hadn’t been returned. Phone calls had gone unanswered.
While there, we decided to give a connection with them one last shot and called their number. It was answered. What a relief to find them alive and well, although a bit more worn for the worse, as were we.
We arranged a meeting at their home and had a lovely evening catching up on the time we had missed. It was as if we had never been apart. We chose not to drill them on why none of our communication efforts had gone unanswered, instead respecting their right to do so.
Bottom line, as Churchill said during London’s darkest hours of WWII. “Never, never, never give up.”
